About Using PLR Content

If you are going to use PLR content for your product or website, this is what you should know before using PLR content.
Private Label Content (PLR) has been a very popular topic in the online business market over the last few years. As more opportunities emerge for people to make money with niche marketing, the demand for affordable content has grown.
PLR is essentially a way for multiple people to share content, by altering it to make it their own. Since they are all given access to use of the content, they pay significantly less for the content.
You can then use that PLR as it is and put your name on it as the author. Or you can break it up into small articles, add to it, combine it with other PLR content, create an audio product from it, and do almost anything you want with it. The more creative you are, the more unique your resulting product will be.
For online marketers, this means a savings of countless hours of work writing all of their content. Or thousands of dollars in outsourcing fees for a professional writer.
Before you get started using PLR for your content, there are a few things that you need to keep in mind:
Trust the Source
It is important that you trust the source of the PLR content. You know not all PLR content is created equal. There is lots of inferior PLR content that no marketer in their right mind would use. Once you put your name on the content, your readers will think that you wrote it. If it’s not well written, informative and interesting you might as well not bother. Even if you’re just using the content on your website to improve search engine
rankings, it should be of good quality because prospects will be reading it and you are judged based on it.
Not Article Site Submissions
PLR is not for submissions to article site, which is probably the worst use of PLR content. If you have submitted articles before, you will know that article directories are very strict about this.
Rewriting PLR
Internet marketers use PLR content to create their own unique products. Rewriting PLR is the best way to use it. With this method you can create content that is unique, and is time-saving. You use the PLR as a source of idea; add your own opinions and writing style to it.
PLR content is a great way to get content you need for your website or business. It is affordable, and very flexible. When you need content for your blog or want to create a complete product line, PLR is the great choice.
Using PLR Content

The best method when you are using PLR content is to re-write it. Read it, absorb it, then rewrite it and inject your own personal style into the article. While you can basically do whatever you like with PLR, the best way is to use it as a good starting point for your article or website content. You want to re-write it, and make it your own.
In the rewriting process, your PLR article will have:
- Title
- Introduction
- Body of content
- Summary
The first thing you must do is to change the title. Change it to one that reads well to human eyes and search engines. Brainstorm a couple of titles, include your keyword in the title and choose the one that fits best. Coming up with your own title is the easiest part. You should use your most commonly searched keyword into your title. All it takes is a little keyword research and thought. Experts say that your title can determine the success of your article. A provocative title can generate more interest and traffic back to your website.
In the body of your article, work your keywords in and keep to the main points. What are the main points in your article? When you are focused on your main points, rewriting a PLR article becomes easy. Furthermore, keeping to your main points allows you to come up with several rewrites which are sufficiently different. You can do a lot more with your articles now.
PLR Content

When you use PLR content, you don’t want to publish it as it is. There are hundreds, perhaps thousands of people with the same content. Publishing as it is will be considered duplicate content by the search engines and will not show up in the search engine results. Hardly what you want, since you want to your article to show up in the search engine search. You should read it first, absorb it, then rewrite it using your own words. This is how you write unique content. You want to use PLR content as a source of information, tweak it and make it your own.
People don’t do this because a) they might have trouble writing or b) don’t know how to do it quickly and effectively. Many people just change the title, add an introduction and a summary. This is known as article wrapping. I suppose if you use as content on your own site, it might be enough. If you don’t really care what search engines think. You certainly can’t do that if you want to submit your article to a article directory, like EzineArticles.com. Not only will your article be rejected, you might be banned from future submissions altogether.
Writing an article from scratch takes time. Normally, you would research a minimum of 3 articles, no more than 5 would be sufficient. It takes time to read and absorb the articles, before you write a completely new article on the topic. Using PLR content, it may only take you a quarter of the time to rewrite it. If you can rewrite 1 article, you can rewrite 5. That is being efficient, and your articles can be considered unique.
The advantage of rewriting your PLR content is you get rewarded in the search engines. Your chances of having more of your content appearing in search engines results increases. You will also have more content for your site, or for submission to article directories. Your readers will probably appreciate your articles more, since they will not have seen it anywhere else.
Submit Your Article

The reason why internet marketers publish articles is to get traffic. Basically, you write a 400 words article and submit to an article publisher like EzineArticles.com.
Your Goal:
- To get targeted traffic to your website.
- To boast your search engine ranking.
Method:
You use the same method as I outlined in my previous article.
1. You chose a keyword that you want to write about. You want a keyword that readers search for.
2. Write your article. The layout and style of your article should look something like this.
- Title - Your keyword here
- Introduction - 100 words
- Body - 3 to 4 paragraphs, 300 to 400 words
- Summary - 50 words
- Author Bio - Your link to your website
3. When you have finished and check through your article, you submit it to an article directory such as www.EzineArticles.com or www.GoArticles.com. Remember to keep your work original and unique. Do not pass off other people’s work as your own.
This method might take some time for you to reap the benefits. Don’t give up, keep up a steady stream of articles. If you don’t see results, you might also want to change your keyword around. Article marketing works, you just need to get your niche right.
Writing Articles-Part1
July 17, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Article Writing is the method of choice for some people in internet marketing.
A solid article will have the following:
- Title
- Introduction
- 3 to 4 paragraphs of content
- Summary
Before you start, chose your keyword. You want to add your keyword to your title, and include it the body of your article.
Step 1: Choose your title
The thing most people will remember about an article is the title. The words a reader sees in your article title will determine the success of your article. An eye-catching title can generate traffic back to your website.
Your title gets the main point of your article across to the reader. Match your title to the most commonly searched keywords for your topic. You can use a thesaurus and look for substitutes for various words. Spend a little thought and create a catchy title.
Step 2: Your introduction
This is where you introduce your topic to the reader and the main reason for the article. Your introduction should not exceed 100 words.
Step 3: Your content
Your articles should not have unnecessary and repetitive information. Unless you are a writer and you charge by the word. Get to the point; this is an article not a novel. Keep your article easy to read. This will also make your article easy to understand, and get your point across to those reading your work.
For good long-term results, it is important for your article to be unique and original. Pay attention to the tone your article is written. If you are writing in the first person, do not sprinkle sentences written in the third person. This is confusing and will not read well.
You write 300 to 400 words for the body of your article.
Step 4: Write your summary
Your summary should not be long at all. A summary or conclusion just states what has already been written. A good summary is short and to the point. This should not exceed 50 words.
When you have finished, read through your article word for word. You are checking for typos or spelling errors, and make sure it is grammatically correct. Your work will be published and you want to make sure that you get it right.
